SCHOOLCRAFT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

April 2011 ~ I am excited to announce Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital has received official notification from Senator Stabenow’s office informing us the USDA has approved loan funding for our replacement building.

This new direct loan of 19 million dollars coupled with our previously approved loan of 3 million dollars for site work will allow us to proceed to build our replacement hospital and clinic.

Upcoming meetings will be taking place with our building project steering committee, our architects and contractors to develop a schedule and plan of action to complete the construction documents, to plan the ground breaking, and to set a schedule to begin site-work this year. Our hope is to be in the new building by the end of 2012 or early 2013.

It has been many years in the making and much time and hard work has been done by members of our staff, senior leadership, our Board of Trustees, community members and leaders.  I want to thank all of you who have had continued faith in our ability to bring a new hospital and clinic to Schoolcraft County.

I would like to also thank all of our elected officials who have supported our efforts especially Senator Stabenow along with our local USDA representatives.

We will continue to keep our community informed on our building progress as we go forth.

If you have any questions regarding our new hospital and clinic, please contact me directly:
